Worth a look right now.

Nothing standout this week. Prices move, so check Amazon's live deals below.

When the deals start

Amazon often starts its offers days or even weeks before Black Friday itself, so the best price is not always on the day. Deal Watch above lists offers we spot, with the date we saw them.

How to tell a real deal

Check the price history. A tracker such as Keepa or CamelCamelCamel shows what a product has cost over the past months. If the "deal" price matches last month's price, it isn't one.

Ignore the crossed-out price. It is often a list price that few shops ever charged.

Check who sells it. Sold and dispatched by Amazon is the simplest. A marketplace seller can be fine, but check the reviews and the returns terms.

Check the exact version

Some listings cover several versions at different prices. Garmin computers, for example, are sold with different map regions. Read the title and the variant picker before you buy.

What to buy now, and what to wait for

This is our view, not a promise. We can't tell you which prices will fall, and nobody outside Amazon can.

Kit you need for the dark months, like lights and chain lube, is worth buying when you need it. The saving on a cheap item is small next to the cost of riding without it.

For big purchases, such as a trainer, a power meter or a bike computer, it's worth tracking the price now and waiting to see what November brings.
